The goal of fifth grade Social Studies is to develop a broader understanding of theme including geography, ancient Americans, Native Americans, explorers, colonization, and the American Revolution. Students will incorporate non-fiction reading and writing strategies taught in Language Arts. In addition, students will develop written responses using a variety of resources, reading primary and secondary sources, and present information to an audience.
Social Studies Grading Policy Grades are a means of communication to report what a student has learned. Grades will be a reflection of what a student knows based on his/her performance on assessments. Term Grades are based on the total possible points for assignments.
